At Mckimmey all care is taken to insure the health and well-being of all the cats in my care, which is just one focus of Lesley Bistline's mission, " COMPASSION BY ACTION."  All "babies" raised within Mckimmey are loved and nurtured and treasured for the unique beings that they are. Time and attention is lavished on all the “furry members” of the Bistline family.  Please take time to enjoy our web site and learn more about our Maine Coons, "Hairballs in the Morning 2" - Real Help for All cat owners, and how you can help us to help humane causes.

About The Breeder, Lesley F. Bistline...
Lesley Bistline has shown and bred Maine Coons for more than twenty–five years. The cattery has raised many Grand Champions, as well as, many National and Regional winners. She was a member of the M.B.C.F.A.{ the breeders and fanciers association} and a member of both C.F.A. and T.I.C.A organizations. The cattery holds a “Cattery of Excellence” standing for C.F.A. and T.I.C.A.  Bistline is also the author of “Hairballs In The Morning” a guide to the proper care of a multi-cat household and the newly released, "Hairballs in the Morning 2" Real Help for All cat owners, which is available for purchase on this web site as well as Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Target and others.

Bistine has shared her life and home with multi-pets most of her adult life. She was not brought up in a household that allowed indoor pets. She only had a hamster and two horses. Therefore, when Bistline reached the age of independence, she wanted to be able to know the joy of having animals around her.  She started with one cat, but her life soon was expanded to include four cats and one dog.

For the next thirty years she added to her “family” as one or more passed on to Rainbow Bridge, however it was not until she was married and her son, at an early age asked for a kitty before her life begin to take a different course. The kitty purchased was from a breeder who suggested that they go and see what a cat show was all about. Having done so, they decided, somewhat naively, to enter her. Well as they say, “the rest is history”.

That was almost twenty-five years ago and they have had success and failure in the show ring. But with both, the Bistlines have learned how truly wonderful it can be to love unconditionally.  Bistline says , "It matters not if you win, but what you and your pet gain along the way. You learn trust and deep respect on both sides. It is not easy to expect an animal to bear baths, travel, and long hours of handling and still be happy and well-adjusted. You as a person must work on your relationship with your pet to gain the love and respect and interest needed for the pet to perform well and still love you afterward. You also find inside yourself patience and a well of love that may have been unknown before. I have gained so much more knowledge of who I am as a person because of my relationship with my pets. I am proud of the level of commitment I have made to this partnership of pet and owner and it has transferred to the way I relate to the persons around me as well. I find that I am more even tempered, loving and understanding with all the persons I have dealings with."

You don’t have to show to learn about the qualities that make you a better human being. Just spending time with and love on your pets and watching how they interact with you and other animals in your home can bring the same results.

"I see myself and my heart in their eyes and I have to say, I like what I see."
